AKRON LSLT-160™ LOW SHRINK LOW TEMPERATURE SILICONE MOLD RUBBER
Akron LSLT-160 was originally introduced in 1994 as a low shrink silicone. Recently we have modified it slightly so that it may be cured at 71°C/160°F for carved waxes. With a shrink of less than 1% (only 0.64%) and extremely high tear strength, it is the best available today. The LSLT-160 in the uncured state is soft as putty so mold packing is quick and effortless.
Thanks to our special blend of high quality ingredients, you can enjoy all of the benefits of silicone rubber including ease of wax release, ease of cutting and high tear strength (you will find that our material does not tear in front of the knife while cutting a mold).
Do you write on your molds? It is not easy to write on silicone molds; ball point pens work well but the ink tends to wipe off. You can cut into the mold with a rubber craytex wheel made by 3M. It is also possible to cut into the mold by using certain sculpting tools. We recommend that you simply use a small adhesive label and stick it to the finished mold.
